Shar Pei are most know for their wrinkles. This is especially true for puppies. The wrinkles will become far less noticeable when they grow older. The wrinkles are very cute on Shar Pei puppies. But keep in mind that this also comes with a price. Having many wrinkles can cause health issues. The wrinkles can easily become infected when they are young. The more folds, the more easy it will be to get one infected. It is best to see a vet as soon as you get your new dog. The vet will help you in many ways, you will not have thought of.
Just be sure to pick a vet that has experience with Shar Pei dogs.

Shar Pei puppies are known for their stubbornness. Therefore as a trainer, you will need to be very dedicated and consistent. This all starts with choosing the puppy. Puppies that come from good breeders will be much easier to work with, have less health issue and will live longer. Therefore you might want to spend a little more on the puppy so that you will have a much easier time later.
A good indication on the way a dog will be later in life is its parents. Be sure to look at the parents carefully when choosing a dog.
As far as training is concerned there is one extremely important point. Stay focused on training. It is easy to get distracted by the cuteness of the puppy. It is very important that you ignore this and focus on the training. This may seem hard in the beginning, but you will thank me later!
